The GUE Fundamentals

The GUE Fundamentals course is an excellent opportunity to anyone wishing to improve their diving skills, safety and comfort. Whether you’re quite a recent open water diver or a more experienced tech or cave diver, the course will bring you new challenges and skills. If you’re thinking of getting tech or cave trained the course, and better targeted training after the course, will grow your capacity and refine the skills needed for the more challenging dives and environments and improve your success on the following advanced courses. No advanced skills are necessary in advance, the earlier you learn your fundamentals the better.

Land drills
During the course you will learn mastering the buoyancy, propulsion methods, back kicks, helicopter turn, valve drills, gas sharing, team skills, etc. All exercises will be made in perfect balance and neutral buoyancy. The team aspect is an essential part of the course curriculum.

The fundamentals course takes 4 days, of which one day is for theory and the rest of the time is spent learning skills with field drills and a total of 6 training dives. All the diving is done using nitrox 32% breathing gas and the course will give you a nitrox diver proficiency. The course also includes a swim and a free diving test.
Learning and refining skills underwater

There’s no need to practice for the fundamentals course. All skills and procedures needed will be taught and practiced during the course. You’ll also get a thorough explanation why things are done in a certain way. The time for practice is only after the course, when the students knows the best ways to train and improve his/hers diving.

The requirements are a open water diver certificate from any organization. The students also need to be non-smoking. You can attend the course either in a single or a double cylinder set up.
